Village Hall at West Neck | Virginia Beach, VA | October | Trey + Britney

Married to my best friend. When I first met Britney and Trey I instantly saw their friendship, they were 100% best friends! As we began planning their wedding together (musically) everything was always so smooth, fun and lively. They truly wanted nothing but to be together and to celebrate their friendship and love on the most important day of their lives.

When I think about the vibe of Trey and Britney's wedding, I think about how absolutely important dancing and music was to them. They actually changed their original wedding day to a date that I was available to be their DJ. It was that important! I was so humbled at the opportunity and got more and more excited as their day got closer. I had met them previously at another wedding and they decided instantly they wanted me to be their DJ. They knew exactly what type of music they wanted and they were so trusting in me to make their party come to life. The groom is definitely a dancer, it was said from the beginning that he would be on the dance floor but the bride didn't expect to dance much, but on the actual day she came to me midway through the dance party and said: "I can't stop dancing!". Everything literally came together perfectly. Even as I reflect on their wedding months later, all I can do is smile. :)

As we talked about their ceremony, they wanted to personalize it, make it special, and super romantic. They made a point to incorporate their close friends, family and even church members into their wedding planning and execution every step of the way. Britney chose to have a friend sing the song, “Reckless Love” because it is the ultimate illustration of love, as she walked down the aisle. It was a very magical moment filled with so much anticipate and emotion.

My top 5 favorite moments during the wedding were:

For this wedding, I had many favorite moments but my absolute favorite moment was when the bride & groom were leading the conga line at the height of the wedding reception, it was such an epic moment and we went completely around the entire reception hall!

2. The moment the groom came down the aisle super excited and hype with his groomsmen.

3. As the bride walked down the aisle escorted she was full of so much pure joy and excitement and you could just see how completely and confidently she was in love with her groom.

4. Bridal Party Intros: Their bridal party including family were so calm and easy-going during the beginning of the wedding and they were so fun to line up and they each danced their way into the reception.

5. At the end of the night, as I gave the couple a hug, they expressed to me so much gratitude, appreciation, and happiness that literally everything went just as they wanted and more for their wedding day.

Beyond their wedding day, Britney, Trey & I still keep in touch regularly and I truly believe and feel that I have gained lifelong friends. I realized after their wedding just how much each of my couples mean to me on an individual basis. I think back to the planning of Trey & Britney's wedding when Trey (The Groom) and I went out just to hang and get a beer! It was so awesome just to spend that time with him. After his wedding, he even came to our baby shower to show love and support. I am so grateful to call Britney & Trey my friends!

“It has been four weeks since my husband and I have been married!! The wedding wouldn’t have been as amazing as it was without DJ West! We first saw and experienced how great he was at a friend’s wedding about two years before and after my husband proposed, we knew we had to book him. This is how serious we were about it! With our venue, we could have got married either Friday or Saturday for the same price but West was already booked that Saturday and every Saturday after. So our wedding was that Friday lol. DJ West is really great at making you feel comfortable and really listens as you explain the vision you have for your wedding. He works with your coordinator and teams up with the photographer to make the event run smoothly. I didn’t have to worry about a thing. I had so much fun, I only left the dance floor once to get a drink of water LOL! So not like me. Thank you, West for honoring our wishes and making our special day a day to remember!”
